Insofar as Premier Smith's response to the Ethics Commissioner's Investigation Report re: Mr. Pawlawski, I suggest you read the Investigation Report of the then Ethics Commissioner, Neil Wilkinson, re: Alison Redford and the allegations surrounding the contract between the Government of Alberta and a Calgary law firm during her tenure as Justice Minister. You can find it here => https://www.ethicscommissioner.ab.ca/media/1063/final-ver-01-dec-03-13.pdf
Note, on Pages 1 - 3, the request for Investigation made by Ms. Smith, as Leader of the Wildrose opposition, references in some detail why, in her view, Ms. Redford breached section 3 of the Conflict of Interests Act.
"I'm not a lawyer."?
She wasn't a lawyer then either, yet purported to know precisely what section 3 said, and prohibited (as, by the way, all Members are deemed to know).
Finally someone said it as it is.
This might more accurately describe the situation facing the Premiers, Constitutionalism, Democracy and the Rule of Law.
